Jason Harrington lives and works in Montauk, NY. His designs are influenced by the simple, functional lines of Scandinavian and Japanese furniture. Born in London, he studied art and graphic design at St. Martins School of Art, but soon moved into a long career in film shooting and directing television commercials. Later in 2016 Bauhaus Woodworks was created, embracing fine furniture design and fabrication.

He is continually inspired by the unique properties presented by each piece of material he works with specializing in traditional craftsmanship and modern design – wood type, flaws and imperfections, oil and wax finishes. He uses Japanese joinery throughout history as a source of inspiration and pursues balance between utilitarian and sculptural. All pieces are made from start to finish in his workshop in Montauk, either as custom order or in small batches. He is adept at both stand alone pieces and custom design solutions for the home.
